Building upon the book, The PE AI Operating Partner, and delivered by the author Bruce Sinclair, The Private Equity Artificial Intelligence Training Program is a one-and-a-half-day on-site training program that teaches how to use and create AI in the context of private equity. Far from academic, this is a vender-neutral how-to course, with the “hows” gained from years of applied AI experience. Pattern matching case studies of what’s been done before to your business is a good start but only gets you so far. This training equips you to innovate by distilling the complex subjects of AI and value creation into the first principles needed to bridge these two worlds so you can make them work together in your own way.

Learn How to Develop Your PEAI Strategy
Understand AI well enough to mitigate its risks and to start using it for value creation.
Because of AI’s strategic nature, it’s not something you can completely delegate to others. As such this program will look at AI from the value creation, risk, financial and technical perspectives. It will provide you with enough AI literacy to discuss it with internal members of your firm about deal strategy, and with external vendors about execution. And enough to work with boards and leadership to help them think about it strategically and out of the box. After finishing this training you’ll know the key concepts and principles required to look at companies through the PE AI lens, pre and post acquisition, and see value creation opportunities invisible to your competitors.

Here’s What You’ll Get from This Training Program
A Dense Curriculum
A Proven AI Value Creation Playbook
Real World Case Studies Across Diverse Sectors
Here’s What You’ll Learn in This Training Program
The PE training program consists of three courses: AI Strategy, AI Value Drivers and AI Technology. Together they deliver a strategic and operational view of artificial intelligence in private equity in a no-nonsense, time-efficient way. Each course has multiple modules consisting of multiple lessons. Together they will equip you to implement AI within your company/portfolio to increase their enterprise value.
This course bridges value creation and risk assessment with strategy. It starts with first principles by applying what AI can do to answer the biggest of questions: “How do I create value with AI?”, “How to I identify AI risk”, and ultimately, “How do I develop my AI strategy?” It includes examples of each AI ability and a detailed case study from an early client using the AI Value Creation Framework.
This course bridges value creation with finance. It goes through the three value drivers (revenue growth, cost reduction and multiple expansion) and each of the 10 AI value levers (market share expansion, customer expansion, product expansion, market expansion, customer retention, pricing optimization, margin improvement, operational efficiency, add-on acquisitions and multiple rerate) to demonstrate another way to imagine AI value creation. This approach classifies AI by value driver and value lever, enabling us to answer the question, “How do I quantify AI value?” Included is a reusable client case study for each value lever.
This is the nerdy part of the program. It answers the question, “How do I execute my AI strategy?”, by introducing the AI Tech Stack (AI model, data, software, hardware) to explain how AI works and the AI Requirements Doc for communicating exactly what needs to be developed by the tech team, bridging the age-old chasm between strategy and execution. It ends with a detailed example of AI math and algorithms.
